It is well known, that the medical profession is among the most popular, respected and attractive career choices in India. Admission to a medical college to study medicine therefore is a much coveted achievement. However, the stark reality is that aspirants outnumber, by far, the available seats. With the keen competition for the few available seats, MBBS admissions in India are available only to the exceptionally meritorious students. This reality unfolded itself to the Chairman of the Trust, Dr A Ameer Jahan, in the year 1993, during his quest to get his son a medical admission in India.
